Don’t you think that’s absolutely astonishing? …Australia, which has had over a 95% whooping cough vaccination rate since 2000, is having the largest outbreak in their history since pertussis vaccination started. The same is happening in USA, and their rate of vaccination is even higher than Australia. So what do you think is happening there?” – Hilary Butler The original information in this document is from Hilary Butler, and is presented as I have incorporated into my practice. This is a long document, but you must read every word of it. Please do not jump to the protocol as you will be lost as to what you are doing if you do not understand the full picture. Your child’s health and recovery is worth a few hours of your time to learn. Introduction Are you concerned about your vaccinated or unvaccinated child getting whooping cough? Well, you shouldn’t be terrified, if you know how to care for your infant and child when it happens. The reason you hear of so much dread and why there is so much fear mongering among the conventional medical community, is because they have no idea how to treat whooping cough. Pertussis bacteria is very tricky and part of its armor are several toxins. The toxin production is the major reason for the terrible symptoms. Conventional medical doctors never address this problem. They give antibiotics, which have never been shown to limit the duration or severity of the cough in well established disease. Vitamin C, in very high oral doses, will get you and your children through the weeks as your children develop lasting immunity that they can pass on to their young infants. Is vitamin C an instant cure? No, but the majority of parents who use it on their infected children report great relief. This includes very young infants. Most parents report a significant decrease in cough severity within the first 24 hours of proper dosing. This is because the primary issue of toxin neutralization is addressed by vitamin C. If you think that a vaccinated person cannot get whooping cough, in the most severe manner, think again. Most babies over the age of 6 months who get whooping cough are fully and “appropriately” vaccinated. In 2012, a new peer reviewed document1 from professor of infectious diseases, Dr Maxwell Witt[1] of Keyser Permanente in California showed that pertussis runs rampant in fully vaccinated child populations. “Our data suggests that the current schedule of acellular pertussis vaccine doses is insufficient to prevent outbreaks of pertussis. We noted a markedly increased rate of disease from age 8 through 12. . . . Acellular vaccines have not been studied for clinical efficacy in north America and no studies exist on long term immunogenicity. . . .We sought to examine the factors that resulted in this peak.” Quite impressive, right? Table 1 at the end of Dr Witt’s document shows the percent of cases in the vaccinated, and it as follows: 86% age 2-7, 86% age 8-12, 62% age 13-18, 81% age 2-18. So now you know who gets more pertussis. It is not the unvaccinated. He even says, in the introduction: “Our unvaccinated and under-vaccinated population did not appear to contribute significantly to the increased rate of clinical pertussis. Surprisingly, the highest incidence of disease was among previously vaccinated children in the eight to twelve year age group.”There is another noteworthy study besides Dr Witt’s. In a controlled study over 86% of whooping cough in school age children occurs in the fully vaccinated1! [2] Prior to vaccination, infants were less susceptible to pertussis because real “herd immunity” was in place, and mothers were passing on immunity to their infants during the vulnerable time. Since vaccination, this herd immunity has actually been abolished, and infants are now more susceptible due to their vaccinated or non-immune mothers lacking specific antibody and cellular immunity for pertussis. This can be verified in the medical literature: “Diminishing maternal immunity increases the risk of infection among the youngest age groups, who have not yet received at least two doses of the vaccine.”[3] When pertussis is left to take its normal course in the community, the supposedly vulnerable infants that the vaccinationists scream and yell about, are protected by maternal antibodies and mother’s milk until they are old enough to process the disease on their own. After vaccines were introduced, this protection was vastly reduced, because the mothers were at best, having vaccine antibodies to pass along to their infants, and that defense is neither effective nor long-lasting. The reason for the diminishing maternal immunity is that vaccinated individuals tend to have lower antibody titers long-term, and breast milk antibody (IgA) is not transferred in vaccinated mothers. As we already know, two doses and even three doses of vaccine is far from a guarantee of immunity. In fact that is the exact reason there is a new vaccine in the pipeline to add to the current FAILED pertussis vaccine schedule. This new vaccine will be inhaled, and in this article [4] touting the need for the new vaccine, the authors detail the many problems with the current vaccine. “Although the introduction and widespread use of the pertussis vaccines caused a dramatic reduction in the incidence of whooping cough, it has risen recently despite high vaccine coverage in developed countries such as Australia, The Netherlands, and the United States despite high levels of immunization rates… The incidence of whooping cough, caused by Bordetella pertussis, in infants has surged in epidemic proportions in Australia as well as worldwide despite high coverage with the currently marketed pertussis vaccines… other major problems associated with the adoption of currently marketed aP vaccines are listed below: (i) Short to medium duration of protection, at best, imparted against pertussis infection attributed to waning of antibody-mediated immunity, mandating frequent booster vaccinations, (ii) induction of low level, if any, of cell mediated immunity considered to be important for long term protection against whooping cough, (iii) limited protection against the major exotoxins…”A recent study [5] suggests that natural immunity to whooping cough lasts at least 30 years, whereas the immunity from a vaccine LASTS THREE YEARS: From Feunou 2010, Followup studies from clinical trials evaluating aPV-induced immune responses in children have indicated that 15–33 months after a complete course of vaccination, specific antibodies were almost undetectable. . . In contrast, naturally acquired immunity to B. pertussis has been proposed to be long-lasting (>30 years). Several parameters might explain these differences in the duration of immunity induced by bacterial infection and vaccination. While aPVs consist of two to five B. pertussis antigens, natural infection induces immune responses against a much wide range of antigens, some of which may contribute to the induction of long-lasting protective immunity. In addition, since B. pertussis is a strictly respiratory pathogen, it is likely that mucosal or local immunity in the respiratory tract plays an important role in the long-term protective immunity. None of the current pertussis vaccines target the mucosal immune compartment. After adult boosters, all antibodies have disappeared within a year. This is why pertussis boosters are now being recommended for 8-12 year-olds and adults. The risk of vaccination with unpredictable waning “immunity,” and vaccine failure, is not as reliable as what nature has set forth, and it never will be. Whooping cough is everywhere; the vaccine has been a miserable failure in the sense of eradication or prevention. Pertussis is admittedly, even by the vaccine enthusiasts, primarily spread by vaccinated children, adolescents and adults, who have inadequate immunity. Regardless, they will still say the problem is not with the vaccine, but rather with too few doses of vaccine. However, conventional medicine’s own scientific studies [6] demonstrate that bacterial clearance and immune response is not as efficient in the vaccinated, in particular with the acellular pertussis vaccines. The reason the vaccinated can spread the disease by virtue of taking them much longer to clear the bacteria, is due to an immune system that has been misprogrammed by a vaccine. Vaccinated babies, children, and adults are not able to mount the comprehensive bronchial and cellular immunity [7] – which an unvaccinated person naturally develops in the course of the disease. The vaccine only primes the body to fight pertussis toxin and sometimes a couple of other cell antigens, in the blood, not the lung. It does this by stimulating an unnatural balance in immune cell populations. This incorrect immunity “learned” from the vaccine (referred to by DR JAMES CHERRY as “original antigenic sin”) [8], is then the same way the body then responds to a subsequent infection. If the first stimulation was to vaccine antigens, then upon the exposure to the disease, the vaccinated person will mount an inferior response, compared to a child who has convalesced from a natural infection. It is well known that pertussis-convalesced children, who have never been vaccinated, develop important antibodies that the vaccinated do not [9]. The vaccinationists have exploited this natural phenomenon to support the need for designing vaccines with multiple antigens. The point they miss is that it is only natural complex cellular and bronchial responses, which give the full protection. It has been shown that response to pertussis toxin [10] and adenylate cyclase toxin [11] is far more intense in the unvaccinated, than the vaccinated. Because of this, the naturally immune will clear bacteria upon re-exposure far more rapidly than the vaccinated. There is an enormous difference between broad, long-lasting immunity from the normal disease, and limited antibody development and short-term pseudo-immunity from the vaccine. Dr. James Bass [12] discusses the rapid clearance of pertussis in the unvaccinated, and the carriage state in the vaccinated, in a letter to the Lancet [12]: “subclinical infections were seen most often in partly immunized children or in individuals whose vaccine-induced immunity may have waned with time.” This was written back when whole-cell pertussis vaccines were used, which are known to have been more dangerous, but possibly more efficacious, than the acellular vaccines used today. If your child has whooping cough, the doctor will try to make you give her antibiotics. Even our alternative doctor suggested it for our kids. Doctors do this because it is what they have learned, not because they see it as fetchingly effective. The medical culture does not seem to understand the damage incurred by antibiotics. And, antibiotics do not shorten, or do anything, to lessen the course of the disease [13]. Antibiotics can, however, make the pertussis more severe by releasing LPS from other gram-negative bacteria during the “die-off” that happens with antibiotics on the gut. They say it stops the baby from coughing as much bacteria into the environment for others to catch. But it can also really sicken the gut, and make babies hyper- irritable. The side-effects of antibiotics outweigh any potential advantages, particularly since antibiotics don’t work for whooping cough. But they do suppress the immune system and alter the colon, which provides 70% of immunity. Many people recognize right away that the antibiotics are not helpful and see the child getting worse on them, and often throw them in the trash. You can politely take the Rx from the doc, if you go to one, and do with it what you think best. I do not recommend trying to convince a zealot medical professional to back off their antibiotic dependence, when your child is ill. If you’re brave, you can go back and do it later. If your child has whooping cough, do not regret it, because you have the opportunity to control it the first time, so that you don’t have to worry about it for several more decades. There are parents all around the world who know that any baby, at any age, can be managed if a mother is supported and knows what to do. A rocking chair is a must for mothers to conserve their own energy, and be able to easily rock very young babies. This will serve to keep the infant relaxed and the mucus moving. Interestingly, well-controlled pertussis has value, and there are many children who have permanently lost their asthma or other conditions after successfully dealing with natural pertussis. Conversely, there are many children who went through pertussis on steroids and antibiotics and now have both chronic lung damage, and allergies. Clinical scenario Whooping cough has two stages. The first stage, colonization, is like a cold, with fever, malaise and coughing, which increases in intensity over about a 10-day period. Then it seems like the cold is gone and there is nothing to worry about. The second or toxemic stage of pertussis begins gradually. The child starts the odd cough, and after about two weeks, the cough starts to get strong, with prolonged and paroxysmal coughing that often ends in a characteristic inspiratory gasp (whoop). The cough is often more prominent at night. If the cough changes, and becomes more of a bark, and more regular – developing a pattern at night of “every hour, on the hour” – you have to consider that it could be whooping cough. If you need a laboratory diagnosis, PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and bacterial culture are both available. Both have advantages and disadvantages. While PCR is increasingly used as the sole diagnostic test for pertussis, CDC recommends that PCR be used alongside culture, rather than as an alternative test. A negative test does not necessarily rule out pertussis. As the cough becomes more severe, various situations can trigger it. A classic way of diagnosis is to touch the middle of the tongue with your finger to see if this starts the cough, or if eating (i.e., passing food over the tongue) starts a cough, consider whooping cough. If a child happens to be breathing in, as well as eating when the food touches the tongue, and the cough starts on the inhale, there is a possibility of food going down the wrong way. If this happens, you may have to do a gentle push under the diaphragm to have them pass the food back up. Running around is another trigger. If you watch them, they go cough, cough, …cough, cough, cough, cough, cough (and at this point are starting to go pink in the face, and are starting to wonder when they can have an in-breath) cough, cough, and then right at the end, they stop coughing, and the in-breath is really fast, because they want to expand their lungs, and the result can be a “whoop.” Older children don’t whoop much, if at all. At the end of the cough, (about a month in), they might bring up a glob of fairly-thick mucus. This is because it pools down at the bottom of the lungs, because the toxin from the bacteria has finally cut off most of the hairs in the bronchioles that sweep the mucus up and around, like a non-stop river to keep the surfaces moist. The earlier in the illness you get the vitamin C going, the less bronchial hairs will be lost. Once bronchial hairs are lost, the cough sounds dry, and that’s because the mucus membranes aren’t being kept as regularly moist as normal. Most children, so long as they constantly get that mucus up, and do not pool it (where secondary bacterial infections can set in) only have “problems” when they are coughing. The rest of the time they are normal. Taking care of the caretaker First, let’s talk about you, the parent. You might have been subtly influenced by the huge field of fear that exists out there and you may not believe that you can’t do this without a doctor, with a prescription pad, who may also chide you for not vaccinating. The first thing you need to do is take some deep breaths and visualize your child fully recovered and fully immune for 30 years. If at first, your emotional scale is off the Richter line, that is natural – it can happen to anyone. But it doesn’t help the thinking process. You need to stand back and think clearly, and have a belief system that supports what you are doing. Get a sheet of paper and a pen where it isn’t going to get covered up and write down exactly the progression, leaving spaces, because you would be amazed at what you remember as time goes by. (If you do need professional help, this record becomes invaluable. Tell them to read it.) Watch the child carefully throughout the day, and write down everything, including how you are feeling. If the child feels hot, go ahead take her temperature, but that won’t mean much. Under no circumstances use acetaminophen or its like, or any cold medicine. Parents have been conditioned to fear fever, but fever is the body’s innate means to heal. Without the ability to have a fever, we would not survive. The febrile seizure is the greatest fear, but even as the conservative NIH says[14], the concern is unwarranted. Caretakers/parents can take a large dose (one tablespoon) of cod liver oil, and about 10 grams of vitamin C spread out over waking hours. Powdered sodium ascorbate is good. Make sure you get a non-GMO formulation. DO NOT USE ESTER C OR CALCIUM ASCORBATE. Mix the sodium ascorbate (10 grams = 2 teaspoons) in whatever volume of water works best for you and split it into maybe 4 doses through the day. When I need a lot quickly, I just take it off the spoon and chase it with a swig of water. You can also make a concentrated shot, or even dilute it much more depending on how well you tolerate the salty feeling. Regardless of how you take the powder, you must stay hydrated with plain water all day long, especially starting in the morning when your urine is most concentrated. Drink it gradually throughout the day. It may also be a good idea to give yourself a loading dose of 5 grams in half a glass of water. If this gives you loose bowels, cut the dose back. Breastfeeding moms can express some breast milk into a cup, and put a pinch of vitamin C powder into it, and mix it. Then, using a plastic eyedropper, dribble this into the baby’s mouth gradually over a few minutes. Don’t squirt it in – just drip it in, bit by bit. Or you can insert the dropper in as she breastfeeds, which would make it easier. If your baby is formula fed, load the vitamin C in the formula. One key to breastfeeding mothers, especially if you the mother have whooping cough, which I’ve seen happen numerous times, is that YOU need to keep your vit C levels consistently high all day and night because if you don’t, you can pass the toxin on to the baby. You must neutralize the toxin in your own body very well. Once infected, breastfeeding mothers do this, the baby enjoys a quick relief from their own cough. Don’t rely on any vitamin C you take to get to your child. It takes about 8 hours for the vitamin C you have taken to get through to the breast milk, and if your infant happens to get whooping cough, you don’t want that gap, and your own need may have increased, so less will get through into your breast milk. A pinch is about 250 mg. Bear in mind that mainstream doctors prescribe antibiotics on the basis of 350 mgs per kg of body weight. So 250 mgs is miniscule, really. If I thought my baby was really sick, then I would calculate vitamin C for her at 375 mg/kg of body weight, and give that over waking hours, making sure that a larger dose is given just before night, to tide the baby over longer hours. It is also worth considering using LYPO SPHERIC VITAMIN C in babies and children at night, because that builds up greater concentrations in the blood and appears to hold them stable for those night hours. It can be mixed into a small amount of fruit smoothie. LYPO-SPHERIC VITAMIN C IS NOT DOSED THE SAME AS SODIUM ASCORBATE. 1000 MG OF LYPOSPHERIC VITAMIN C WILL BE THE EQUIVALENT OF APPROXIMATELY 3000 MG OF SODIUM ASCORBATE SO YOU USE MUCH LESS LYPO IF YOU ARE USING LYPO-SPHERIC VITAMIN C!!! Also Livon labs lypospheric vitamin C contains soy and should be avoided if there is any known allergy to soy. Vitamin C toxicity? I find it amusing in the wake of pharmaceutical disaster after disaster in all areas of medicine, including my own specialty, that there is even discussion of a toxicity level for vitamin C – especially for a sick person. Toxicity of anything can only occur with unused excess which acts as a “poison” in the body, if is retained. Vitamin C is never a poison in the body, because every single function of the body requires it, and when there is too much, the person has a one-time episode of loose bowels, as the excess is removed from the body. This is how you know you’ve had enough vitamin C. For anyone to consider that vitamin C could have toxicity means that they have no understanding of the various roles that vitamin C has in the body. There is a full body of research literature supporting the truth that vitamin C is nontoxic and safe in indicated circumstances in megadose quantities. There is much evidence indicating that vitamin C metabolism changes during infections and this may affect the relationship between doses and adverse effects [15](Hemilä 2006 pp 6-712), meaning that if you are burning through vitamin C and your body is requiring more and more, you will not suffer from toxicity. You will suffer from lack of it! One of the biggest problems is that people are scared to use the sorts of doses they need to. They have been brainwashed about how dangerous vitamin C is in large doses. They see 20-30 Grams for an adult or 5 -10 grams for a child to be a megadose. But when the body has the level of need that someone with so much bacterial exotoxin and oxidative stress has, these seemingly high doses often just keep up with the ongoing need. To help with the pertussis, you have to give a big enough dose, because it’s going to be used up hand over fist. It’s like pouring water into a bucket with leaking holes. The pace has to keep up with the “use.” Nobody has ever died of a vitamin C overdose. It has been reported that people with serious infections can ingest over 50 g/day of vitamin C without gastric problems (LUBEROFF 1978;CATHCART 1985). The same principle whereby use of a necessary substance cannot cause toxicity, applies for a few other nutrients during infection, like vitamin A. You can give a child with measles vitamin A in levels which would normally be considered toxic, because the action of the measles virus pulls vitamin A out of the body hand over fist. All you are doing there is replacing what the body is mining. Therefore in the context of measles, high doses of vitamin A will not be toxic. Kidney stones: You wouldn’t be using megadoses of vitamin C when you are super healthy, but only when such doses are required. There are case reports of oxalate crystal formation in the kidneys of people using vitamin C treatments for various illnesses and in health. My opinion is that oxalate crystals can form in kidneys of some people while taking vitamin C, but it is very rare and can be prevented. The case reports I have read are not clear cut that the vitamin C was the only factor. Some people are prone to form oxalate in the body (PRIMARY OXALOSIS), some absorb more oxalate from the intestine from malabsorption of fats, and those people will have an underlying risk of oxalate stones. If they take vitamin C, the vitamin C will usually be thought to be at fault and in some cases it may contribute. However, there is a paper by Wandzilak 1994 that shows how doses of 10 Grams of vitamin C do not produce a significant rise in urinary oxalate and that the tests used to measure oxalate can be falsely positive due to non-enymatic conversion of vitamin C in the urine to oxalate outside the body. If there is concern about kidney stone formation, or kidney failure, do not take vitamin C without consulting your doctor. Hydration with water and fresh lemon will alkalize and dilute the urine, making oxalate stone formation nearly impossible. If there is a known history of a stone forming disorder called hyperoxaluria, then caution should be exercised. However to be sure keep the urine dilute and alkaline as oxalate stones form in acidic, concentrated urine. Anyone with a very rare disorder called Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD) should refrain from using megadoses of vitamin C except under specialist care. This issue as well as other toxicity issues is discussed in a previous BLOG. If you or your child have a history of anemia, hemolysis or a family history of anemia, then checking for the disorder prior to high dose vitamin C can be done. The whooping cough bacteria First let it be known that Bordetella pertussis, the bacteria responsible for whooping cough, has properties that not all bacteria have, and that is what makes it such a whopper to deal with: It secretes several toxins, and has adapted to stick to the cells of the airway. “nonciliated cells” are the damaged ones. Most of the respiratory tract lining (from the nose to the bronchi) is covered with hair-like (ciliated) epithelial cells. The cilia beat in one direction, moving mucus towards the throat where it is swallowed. Moving down the bronchioles, the cells change in shape but are still ciliated. In health, the bronchial hairs are moving mucus around all the time. It is this continuous movement that keeps the airways free of invasive pathogens. If it didn’t do this, then we would be overcome by the bacteria and viruses we breathe every day. This mucus is part of the innate immune system and is loaded with immune globulins. So you must keep the mucus moving, especially in a sick child. Once the pertussis bacteria have a hold in the hairs, it secretes tracheal cytotoxin, which cuts the hairs off, stops them from beating, and destroys the cells underneath [17]. The mucus then stops moving normally and instead, it pools at the bottom. Then it builds up, breathing becomes harder, and the body signals coughing to try to move the mucus out of the way, for proper breathing to occur. As long as you keep the mucus moving, your baby should not get a secondary infection. Vitamin C and hydration will help to keep the mucus thin. When you first start to use vitamin C, the mucus may thin out quickly and the person coughing may bring up large quantities in the first 24 hours. There are two first-line bacterial toxins [18]; Pertussis toxin (PTx) which stops the body from sending neutrophils(immune cells) to kill the bacteria, and Adenylate Cyclase Toxin (ACT). ACT inhibits the immune cell function and poisons the immune response [19], acting as a “force-field” to shield the bacteria from the immune system while the bacteria start stripping the bronchiolar cilia off of the epithelial cells. Vaccinated children cannot mount antibody to ACT[20].Vitamin C will neutralize these toxins while the body is mounting a proper immune response, which takes weeks. If the disease goes out of control, toxins can enter the blood-stream and irritate the body. If the baby’s immune system is not so good, then this toxin can get to the brain as well, but this is very rare. This is why 1 in 200 babies die from it – their figures, which I am repeating back to you. The truth is that it is 1 in 200 babies who have received standard medical treatment, or no treatment whatsoever, who might die. These numbers are used often to frighten parents into vaccinating, but the numbers are generated by counting children who’ve been treated allopathically, not by those of us who have successfully treated alternatively, as those children rarely land up in the hospital, and thus are not counted in the stats. If the mucus is not expectorated, bacteria will grow and cause a secondary bacterial infection, which doctors will want to treat with antibiotics. They say whooping cough, in rare cases, can cause long-lasting bronchial problems. Yes it can, if you treat it the way the doctors do, doing nothing other than antibiotics. Just using antibiotics does not deal with the pooling mucus, or manage it, or deal with the toxin. If you keep the mucus moving (you can also use gentle postural drainage if you want), there should be no further problems other than the cough itself. Vitamin C’s action The vitamin C neutralizes any toxins in the blood and should stabilize the child. If you are breastfeeding, you will have to take it yourself and/or give it until the coughing stops. It is easier and cheaper to give it directly to babies, rather than trying to guess how much is coming through breast milk. If you take it yourself, you can never be sure your baby is getting what it needs, because you might be more stressed than you think, and your body may be using up more than you estimate. The vitamin C will not kill the bacteria. The vitamin C will mobilize the neutrophils and phagocytes (the immune cells that process the infection) which grind to a halt without vitamin C, which is their fuel. The toxin forms a “barrier” to the immune system. In using vitamin C, you are clearing out the barrier and allowing the immune system to get in there easily and deal with the bacteria. It will take the same length of time to deal with the bacteria – the whole 100 days, but the child will NOT have as serious symptoms, because you are keeping the system clean, and the immune pathways functioning properly. The functions of vitamin C in any toxin-mediated disease (which includes tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, Staph. aureus, Strep. A, meningococcal invasive disease, pneumococcal invasive disease, etc.), are several. Three of the fundamental functions of vitamin C are strengthening cellular and vascular collagen bonds, detoxifying the body, and keeping mitochondria running properly. The very common reason why people who are ill for a long time have extreme lethargy – is lack of vitamin [21]. You can’t have functioning mitochondria without vitamin C. And it’s no fluke that if a doctor tests babies with SIDS, they can often find zero vitamin C [22]. Here are a few functions of vitamin C, using whooping cough as the example: 1) The front line function of vitamin C is to bond with, and neutralize, circulating toxin, which is then removed from the body – by the kidneys. With whooping cough, the body manages the toxin until it runs out of vitamin C. Then the toxin builds up, the cough intensifies, and there is breakthrough into the blood. In babies with subclinical scurvy, (which the doctors never recognize, because they think all forms of scurvy disappeared with Captain Cook’s discovery)the blood brain barrier weakens significantly – which can result in toxin going into the brain. 2) When the “whooping” body runs out of vitamin C, two things happen. If the mother is observant, she will notice that the child’s gums may go red around the edges – a first sign of scurvy. Then, the cough gets much worse, because the neutrophils aren’t able to attack the bacteria anymore, because the vitamin C has run out. So the bacteria spreads through the bronchioles, eroding the bronchial hairs, which means that instead of the mucus flowing up the brochioles and recycling and keeping the area clear, it now pools at the bottom of the bronchioles, and toxin rules the area. At this point, vitamin C in large enough doses eliminates the toxin, but it won’t stop the need to cough, because the hairs aren’t there, so the child still has to cough up that pooled mucus. The other thing the vitamin C does is thin out the mucus, making it much easier for the child to cough it up, so you don’t get to the red-in-the-face stage, because the mucus isn’t thick anymore, and moves up easily. However, because the mucus moves up quickly, you may get the odd “vomit” session, particularly if the child has just eaten. 3) Vitamin C strengthens collagen intracellular bonds. If no vitamin C is given, the integrity of the body’s collagen intracellular bonds start to weaken, and the child will get pink eyes from the cranial force, and the lungs will start to become congested, the blood-brain barrier becomes permeable…all for the lack of vitamin C. 4) Vitamin C is a great antioxidant. Without vitamin C, the neutrophils and liver won’t be able to deal with the free radicals and toxins being thrown at the body[23]. (And yes, lack of vitamin C has a huge role in preventing and dealing with cancer.) 5) Vitamin C has a large role in mitochondrial function. The patient can get exhausted without vitamin C, because carnitine won’t pull fatty acids into the mitochondria, and will thus produce less energy. The fact that vitamin C is the basis of “life” is why scurvy was such a killer for sailors. Without vitamin C, the whole of the body’s core functions gradually shut down, and if it is not replaced, there is only one result, and that is death. You can toss everything else into a human body – every other “good” food… but if there is no vitamin C in any of that food, that human will die. If you are using vitamin C to “bond to and neutralize” toxins in whooping cough or any other disease, you use as much vitamin C as the body will soak up, to get all the functions going and complete the process. Everything you put in is utilized to join with exotoxin and flush it out; to keep the neutrophils moving around and dealing with waste; to keep the liver protected; to keep the mitochondria functioning properly. The Protocol The information provided here stems from a wide body of literature that demonstrates vitamin C to be extremely safe and instrumental in the biochemical recovery from Bordetella pertussis (whooping cough). Those who have used this approach are proof of the truth, that natural recovery from whooping cough has advantages for an entire life. The pertussis vaccine is one of the most ineffective vaccines, has many disadvantages, and requires numerous doses and boosters. One episode of natural whooping cough renders the recovered immune for at least 30 years. Subsequent whooping cough in convalesced adults will be a nuisance cough. If you have a cooperative medical provider, this document can serve as a guideline for them and you to work together.Powdered sodium ascorbate or lypo-spheric vitamin C is what you want, when using high doses. You should always have this in your house regardless, since it has so many good uses. It is available to you, from your health food store or online. The lypo-spheric vitamin C is usually dosed around bed time or at the beginning of the cough in order to boost the blood levels quickly. The sodium ascorbate is dosed in a mg/kg/day dose. Please be sure that your sodium ascorbate is a non-GMO brand. I recommend nutribiotics brand because it is pure and free of GMO, inexpensive and available on DO NOT USE ESTER C OR CALCIUM ASCORBATE. LYPO-SPHERIC VITAMIN C IS NOT DOSED THE SAME AS SODIUM ASCORBATE. 1000 MG OF LYPOSPHERIC VITAMIN C WILL BE THE EQUIVALENT OF APPROXIMATELY 3000 MG OF SODIUM ASCORBATE SO YOU USE MUCH LESS LYPO IF YOU ARE USING LYPO-SPHERIC VITAMIN C!!! Pertussis toxin can be neutralized in 12 hours with correct vitamin C dosing. You have to continue the vitamin C for up to three months. It does not stop the disease. Vitamin C clears away the toxins, and makes the coughing much, much milder, and increases the ability of the body to deal with the bacteria and develop immunity naturally. The starting dose in children for sodium ascorbate is 200-375 mg per kg over 24 hours. If they are coughing until they are purple, then your doses of vitamin C are much too small. Bump them right up to the level of 375 milligrams per kilo of body weight over the waking hours, as a starting dose. If you use pounds, know that one kilo is equal to 2.2 pounds. So get a calculator and weigh your child. Here is how you arrive at the amount of milligrams of sodium ascorbate, which will be spread out over 24 hours, in multiple doses. You will have to split up the baby or children’s doses in small amounts of water through the day, and because they are small they need it concentrated. You must however make sure to keep them well hydrated with water all day, and if you are breastfeeding you need to be very well hydrated to pass that water on to the baby. You may want to give more towards the end of the day, or whenever the coughing tends to be worse. This dose is just a guideline to start working with. You may determine that you require more or less. This is explained below. If using pounds, use this equation: (weight in pounds divided by 2.2) times 375 = for the 24 hour dose, in mg per kg. Example: If your child weighs 20 pounds then you have 20 divided by 2.2 times 375= 3409 mg of vitamin C powder in a 24-hour period. If using kg, just use wt in Kg times 375= your dose of sodium ascorbate for 24 hours in mg per kg. If you are having any trouble or doubt on the dose, please check with someone who can do this calculation for you. Once you start using vitamin C, the mucus will thin out considerably. The first 24 hours may be a time when mucus seems to come out in great abundance, as it thins. If your dose is right, within 8 hours there should be a two-third reduction in the coughing. If you start to taper the vitamin C too soon, e.g., before four weeks, you could see an increase in cough. You will then have to go back up to the old dose. It is probably not a good idea to even try stopping before 4 weeks. If your child develops loose bowels, then you may be giving too much. In this case cut back by 50% and monitor. The cough in most children will decrease to at least a quarter the intensity it was if proper doses of vitamin C are given. But you still have to know how to manage the quantity of mucus whooping cough produces, especially in babies. The babies’ relative inability to use the stomach muscles to cough properly and their narrow bronchioles put them at a physical disadvantage compared with older children. If that mucus is not shifted, then secondary bacterial infections set in, and it is these, which can cause the problems. If you are giving a high dose and it seems to not be working, there may be reasons why. Here are some of the confounding issues I have encountered.-Sugar in the diet. This includes honey and all good sugar. Sugar competes with the vit C transporter in cells. This would include simple carbohydrates too.-Milk products should be absolutely avoided.-Consider avoiding wheat and gluten for a few weeks.-Pedialyte or any sucralose containing products are immune suppressing. Avoid them. If you are concerned about dehydration or electrolye imbalance then use coconut water as it is so much like human plasma it can be given IV. This is not the same as coconut milk. Babies With any cough, particularly whooping cough, turn the baby around, with its back to your abdomen. Split your legs, so the baby is supported around the abdomen but the legs are straight down between your thighs. Your hands make a gentle net around the baby’s ribcage and abdomen, and when the baby coughs, you lean forward slightly to angle the baby, allowing the baby to have something for the abdominal muscles to push against as it coughs. You give the baby some pressure to use, but do not press in yourself. They haven’t learned to control their muscles to get an efficient cough yet, so your hands give them a wall to push against, and make it much easier for them. With whooping cough, you will get a clear mucous glob ejected onto your floor. Better out than in. Don’t attempt to catch it, or you may drop the baby. With whooping cough, the cough will become more regular, first at night. Maybe every hour, on the hour. This is because it takes around an hour for the mucus to pool at the bottom of the bronchial tube. Later, the cough will become more common in the day as well. Once the cough is regular in the day, that’s usually when parents start to suspect whooping cough. If you think it is whooping cough, write down the time of each coughing spell at the beginning, to see if a pattern establishes. This will help with diagnosis. Why write it down? Because life will become so hectic you won’t be able to remember, and your paper pad will be your memory. It will enable you to look back clearly, without panic, and see what the progression is. If your child’s cough is whooping cough, it will last the normal time – supposedly 100 days…., but the cough will be a nuisance only. If you are breastfeeding, you will notice that each time you feed, this will provoke a cough, usually during a brisk “let-down”. Deal with the cough first – let the milk spray if need be. Get the mucus up, then put the baby back on the breast straight away, and there will be no cough because the mucus has gone, and she will take the full feed. But you both might be wet and sticky, on your front and her back. Babies with whooping cough sleep lightly. An experienced mother who has gotten several babies through whooping cough says this: I organised the house so that I sleep with the babies in a huge double bed (on the floor, not raised) and during the day, apart from toilet stops, well planned… I spent most of the day in the rocking chair if the baby was asleep, or put them in the back-pack if I needed to do a job, though I got a couple of well-placed mucus globs down the back of my neck. Everything was organized so that I got the maximum sleep, as sleep deprivation for the mother is the main problem. Littlies seem to be forever bounding with energy, even though they are coughing – somehow they cope with sleep in short burst better than we do. Cleaning – went out the window – I concentrated on cooking, dishes, and keeping up with the washing. A bath or shower was when hubby was at home, and on hand to help – to do baby as well. WARNING: If you stop the vitamin C too soon, you will soon find that the cough quickly becomes much stronger. Once kids know that it’s the vitamin C that holds the cough intensity down, and parents stop it too soon, the kids will come back and plead for it. It needs to be used for several weeks, or else you will have a continuous relapsing and seeming recovery cycle. A properly-managed baby or child with whooping cough should not lose any weight at all. The recovery period If your child gets a cold from 6-9 months after having recovered from whooping cough, the child will start to “whoop,” or cough, the same way as when processing the pertussis. The reason for that is that it takes a long time for the hairs to grow back. Any infection without proper hairs in the bronchi, will result in mucus pooling. Because there has been loss of the hairs in the bronchi, this mucus pooling is necessary to trigger a cough strong enough to get the mucus from the bottom of the bronchi up to the top. Do not use cough suppressants or you will end up with pneumonia. The reason we doctors were never taught about therapeutic doses of vitamin C in medical school, is that if they had taught us about it, then not only would a raft of other drugs have been unnecessary, but they wouldn’t be able to use meningococcal complications and deaths as emotional blackmail to get people to vaccinate, because people wouldn’t be scared of gram-negative infections [N. meningitides and H. influenza (Hib)] any more. There would never be serious whooping cough or even deaths. Vitamins A and C would render measles, whooping cough, meningococcal complications, among other things, really easy to treat. When sick people presented to the hospital, IV vitamin C would immediately be started, and there would not be the terrible complications such as coagulopathy, at all. 4. Estrogen dominance, womens’ problems, amenorrhea, and menopause

Excessive estrogens and stagnation of blood circulation are the major cause of most women’s problems including breast, uterine and ovarian cancers. According to Dr. John R. Lee in his book “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause: the Breakthrough Book on Natural Progesterone” (Warner Books, 1996), estrogen dominance is the cause of most women’s chronic health problems. We are living in a polluted world where estrogens are present in almost every type of food that we eat. Since the liver is the organ that removes estrogens, a weak liver that fails to remove estrogens efficiently may lead to their accumulation (for liver cleansing and strengthening, see liver cleanse). When excessive estrogens become trapped in the uterus, ovary, or breast due to stagnation, they overstimulate cell division and lead to abnormal growth such as fibroids, cysts or cancer in these organs. Estrogens may also be accumulated in the brain or liver because they both have estrogen receptors.


A common woman’s problem, PMS, is usually caused by high estrogen to progesterone ratio; the estrogen level may not be high in absolute value but is high relative to progesterone. The common symptoms of PMS such as mood swings, depression and bloating are all signs of estrogen dominance. Evening Primrose oil, which contains estrogenic activity, is a popular supplement for PMS sufferers. It offers quick relief for PMS symptoms but long term use may aggravate the problems. Most people don’t realize this. A PMS sufferer who had been taking evening primrose oil for 4 years came to see me. Her thighs were swollen with water retention, probably due to excessive estrogen. After I told her to stop taking evening primrose oil in addition to taking Chinese Bitters, her swollen thighs became normal in about a month’s time.

The herb Vitex stimulates progesterone production in the body and therefore helps to balance the hormones. Experience from many of my clients has shown that taking the herbal tincturesFem-Mate (contains Vitex) and Chinese Bitters is beneficial to PMS sufferers. However, if estrogen is high (and not just high in relation to progesterone but high in absolute terms), then Fem-Mate should be taken, only for a few weeks, in order to balance the hormones. Please note that if you take it for longer than a few weeks, it could actually raise estrogen levels, because Vitex stimulates progesterone production by stimulating the adrenals, which also produce estrogen.

Amenorrhea – Absence or Abnormal Stoppage of Menstruation

Amenorrhea may be associated with congenital abnormalities, pituitary insufficiency, metabolic diseases (thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, adrenal hyperplasia), undernourishment, anemia, wasting diseases, severe infections or hormone abnormalities – the most common cause in our modern way of living.

“The administration of large amounts of estrogen prevents menstruation for a long period of time” (see Reference 2 at the end of this Section, page 764).

Other than estrogens in meat and dairy products, pesticide sprays (environmental estrogens) on fruits and vegetables also mimic estrogens in our bodies when ingested. As a result, hormonal abnormalities has become a major issue for amenorrhea nowadays. A weak liver that fails to eliminate all these ingested estrogens is often responsible for hormonal abnormalities.

One of our products, “Chinese Bitters”, has been used successfully to induce menstruation by cleansing the liver and eliminating estrogens more efficiently. A woman in Hawaii had no period for 18 months. She had her period in 15 days after she started using “Chinese Bitters”. Another young woman in Ontario, Canada had no period for 3 years. She used “Chinese Bitters” for more than a month without success. However, when she used “Coptis” (another of our products) in conjunction with “Chinese Bitters”, her period started in 5 days. The liver eliminates estrogens through bile and urine. Being an effective bile flow stimulator, Coptis helps the liver to eliminate estrogen more efficiently by carrying more estrogens out of the body through bile.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

I was never diagnosed with PCOS, but I would not be surprised if I did have it. PCOS is another woman’s problem caused by high levels of estrogens in the body. Medical treatment usually uses Clomiphene (an anti-estrogen drug) which treats the symptoms, not the problems. Possible side effects include hot flashes, nausea, headache, breast tenderness and sometimes blurred vision.

PCOS is a leading cause of female infertility due to excessive estrogens (for details please read Section 6 of this article). Excessive estrogens are often the result of the liver’s failure to eliminate them efficiently. The commonly associated problems (heart disease and diabetes) are also indications of weak liver. Our Chinese Bitters, Coptis and Taheebo in addition to daily morning exercise have proven to be very beneficial. The regimen is the same as that for endometriosisand infertility. They are all caused by high estrogen levels.

Womens’ weight problems

Estrogens and the liver have important roles in weight problem or obesity which is common among women with PCOS or other woman’s problems. Metabolism is mostly carried out in the liver. Sluggish metabolism due to sluggish liver and too much estrogens are contributing factors to weight gain. When the liver fails to eliminate estrogens efficiently, the excessive estrogens stimulate fat cell production, usually around the lower abdominal area and upper thigh. These fat cells in turn stimulate more estrogen production; it is a vicious cycle. Estrogens also bind to sodium, which retains water and leads to weight gain.

Many women were pleasantly surprised to find their weight reduced unexpectedly by taking Chinese Bitters,Coptis and doing daily morning exercise. Daily morning exercise helps to activate the liver. When the liver becomes more efficient and bile flows better following use of Chinese Bitters and Coptis, weight problems are often significantly improved because so much of your metabolism is carried out in the liver. By stimulating bile flow, Coptishelps the liver to eliminate estrogens more efficiently because the liver depends on bile flow to carry estrogens out.

Diet is important too. Foods that weaken the liver and kidneys as mentioned in Section 3 of this article should be avoided.

Estrogens, blood stagnation and womens’ problems

There is an interesting observation mentioned in the book“Estrogens in the Environment” [see Reference 1 at the end of this section]: “Chinese boat women who nurse their offspring from only one breast have a four-fold higher incidence of cancer in the non-suckled breast”. This is an indication that stagnation has an important role in tumor or cancer growth.

Looking back, my liver problems started in my teenage years because of my very stressful childhood. I tired easily and I had a poor complexion and juvenile arthritis. I had however no uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts or endometriosis. I was very active and had absolutely no excess fat in my abdominal area; the estrogens were not trapped even though their levels might have been high. My uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and endometriosis started only after I accumulated a thick layer of fat in my abdominal area from pregnancy and inactivity in my 30’s.

The controversy about plant estrogens or phytoestrogens

There seems to be a common misconception in the natural health community that women with high estrogen levels should take phytoestrogen (plant estrogen) because phytoestrogens are“protective estrogens” which reduce estrogenic activity. It is believed that phytoestrogens compete with endogenous estrogens for estrogen receptors. When the estrogen receptors are occupied by phytoestrogens, cell divisions are reduced because phytoestrogens are “weak estrogens”. This theory made sense to me until my own experience showed otherwise. With my endometriosis, my pain level was a measurement for my condition. When I tried Don Quei, Licorice, Ginseng and Royal Jelly, I did feel better initially for a few weeks because they helped my blood circulation. As I continued to take these remedies, my pain would come back with a vengeance, more severe than before. I realized that weak estrogens could add up significantly if given enough time. I believe that many women are misled by initial feelings of wellness without realizing that longer periods of usage actually makes the problem worse. Many other endometriosis sufferers that I know also have had similar experiences with phytoestrogen. After my personal experience, my belief is that weak plant estrogens may replace our own more potent estrogens for receptor sites, but our own estrogens still have to go somewhere if the liver is incapable of eliminating them.

In Townsend Letters for Doctors and Patients (January, 1997 issue), Ray Peat, a renowned biologist in the U.S., stated that “the concept of a protective estrogen is very similar to the idea of protective mutagens or protective carcinogens”. He mentioned that “Alexander Lipshuts demonstrated that a continuous, weak estrogenic stimulus was immensely effective in producing first fibromas, then cancer, in one organ after another, and the effect was not limited to the reproductive system”. For example, the brain and liver, which also have estrogen receptors, may grow tumours too.

Interestingly, one of the three common estrogens,Estriol, has similar properties. Being a less potent cell stimulant, Estriol was once classified as an estrogen antagonist. In the book Estrogens in the Environment [see Reference 1 at the end of this section], it was mentioned “because it failed to induce breast tumors in susceptible rodent strains and appeared to block such induction by Estradiol and Estrone, it was considered to be a safe estrogen”. However, later studies showed that Estriol was safe only if it was administered as a single injection. A continuous administration of Estriol showed the same responses from that induced by Estradiol which is the most potent estrogen. Continuous administration of Estriol was also shown to induce breast tumors in rodents.

Estriol has been suggested as having a protective role in breast cancer based on the observation that oriental women who have a high [Estriol/(Estradiol + Estrone)] ratio in their blood also have a low incidence of breast cancer [see Reference 1 at the end of this section]. Soya bean (contains phytoestrogen) has also been suggested as being protective in breast cancer because Japanese women who consume much more soya bean than Western women have lower incidence of breast cancer. My observation is that in the past oriental women took much less medical drugs including painkillers compared to women in Western societies. However oriental breast cancer incidence has gone up significantly in recent years even though soya bean products are still consumed there much more than in Western societies. I believe this trend may in part be due to increased consumption of medications.

The American Liver Foundationstated that the amount of medicine consumed has increased greatly with resulting dangers to the liver. The elevated estrogen level caused by a weak liver may not be detected in blood tests because blood estrogen levels do not necessarily reflect estrogen levels in tissues. Estrogen levels in the tissues cannot be measured.

Estrogens bind to sodium which retains water. That is why many women who take estrogen therapy may find significant weight gain. The fact that estrogen therapy weakens both liver and kidneys and therefore slows down the metabolism may also aggravate weight problems.

How to reduce estrogen levels and stagnation of blood circulation?

  1. Perform daily physical exercise, which reduces estrogen production and stress, and also reduces stagnation. It promotes a healthy circulatory system and activates the liver. I found the Chinese exercise Y-Dan, which I have been doing every morning for years, is very beneficial. However, it does not have to be any particular kind of exercise, as long as it involves a lot of deep breathing and stretching.
  2. Learn to relax and reduce stress. Relaxation opens up blood vessels and relaxes different organs.
  3. Perform cleansing and strengthening of the liver in order to eliminate estrogen more efficiently.
  4. Avoid or minimize estrogen-containing foods or herbs. Foods that weaken the liver or kidneys as mentioned inSection 1 of this article should also be avoided.

Pesticides sprayed on fruits or vegetables are another source of estrogen (xenoestrogens). Soaking them in a water-vinegar mixture for 20 to 30 minutes followed by rinsing in clean water can remove much of the pesticides if organically-grown vegetables or fruits are unavailable.

A friend of mine loves cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables. She was still menstruating at the age of 55. I reasoned that she was taking in too much estrogen from eating cheese and pesticide-sprayed fruits and vegetables. I suggested that she cleanse her liver and gallbladder, stop eating cheese, and soak the vegetables and fruits in a vinegar/water mixture (one part of vinegar and one part of water) to remove the pesticides because vinegar is a better solvent than water for pesticides. At the same time, she also did liver and gallbladder cleansing. Her period stopped the first month after she followed my suggestion.

The following are some of the herbs and foods with estrogenic activities:

Anise, hops, fennel, black cohosh, milk thistle, clover, red clover, Don Quai, licorice, ginseng, royal jelly, peony, nettle, sage, fenugreek, evening primrose oil, burdock, chamomiles, rhubarb French bean, date palm, dates, garlic, pomegranate, apple, soyabean, chick pea, cherry, alfalfa, soya sprouts, cow pea, green beans, red beans, split peas, flaxseed, raspberry, carrot and squash (both have beta carotene)

Generally I have found that estrogen contents in foods are less than in herbs. My suggestion for women with hormone imbalance is to avoid herbs which have estrogenic activities such as Don Quei, Licorice, Ginseng, Royal Jelly, fennel, hops, anise, clover, flax seed oil and evening primrose oil even though they may make you feel better initially. Estrogen-containing foods such as alfalfa, chick pea, carrot (or beta carotene) can be taken occasionally but not on a regular basis.

Menopause and liver, kidney and bone health

Most medications are damaging to the liver and kidneys. My suggestion is to take them only if they are absolutely necessary. Proponents of Chinese medicine believe that liver and kidney health is very important for one’s well-being especially during menopause. I feel blessed that I breezed through my menopause without any symptoms because my liver became healthy and my woman’s problems disappeared 5 years before my “change of life”. Someone I know suffered incredibly during her menopause. When she told me that she took painkillers for 14 years for her headache, I realized that painkillers might be the culprit because they are damaging to the liver and kidneys.

According to Chinese medicine, hot flashes are the result of sluggish liver. During menopause, the liver has to go through significant adjustments due to hormonal changes. When the liver is sluggish, the “Chi” (energy flow) in the liver encounters too much resistance due to the adjustments and therefore produce“heat”. If the liver is healthy, both the blood flow and “energy flow” are smooth and no “heat” will result. Spicy foods, especially ginger and cinnamon, are very “yang” foods. They congest the liver and produce “heat” that could aggravate hot flashes. Women who suffer from hot flashes may have to avoid these foods.

Before menopause, the estrogens and progesterones are both produced by ovaries and adrenals. During menopause, ovarian activities are greatly reduced and the adrenals become the major suppliers of these hormones. Without healthy kidneys, the adrenals, which sit directly on top of the kidneys, cannot efficiently take over the role as major producer of estrogens and progesterones. This is a basic cause of women’s menopausal problems.

Weak kidneys can also contribute to osteoporosis which is a major health concern with many post-menopausal women. According to Chinese medicine, the kidneys support the bones. Healthy kidneys are essential for strong bones. Weak kidneys may cause increased urinary losses of calcium and phosphates due to the kidneys’ inability to form an acid urine (Harper, H.A., Review of Physiological Chemistry, 14th edition, Lange Medical Publications, 1973).

Strong and healthy bones require good diet, exercise, healthy kidneys and digestive system. Adequate intakes of proteins, vitamins and minerals and proper absorption of these nutrients by a healthy digestive system are vital. Healthy kidneys maintain calcium and phosphate balance. Regular exercise increases the blood supply to bones and also provides mechanical stimulus to bone formation. Morning exercise is more beneficial than exercise at other times of the day. It activates the liver, stimulates blood circulation and strengthens the bones. I have been doing daily morning exercise (

Y-Dan exercise) for more than 20 years.

The well-known folk remedy of taking two teaspoonfuls of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoonful of honey daily to strengthen the bones does work. I know this is true through my experience from working with many post-menopausal women.

Hot Flashes

Our experience has shown that the combination of Chinese Bitters (taken before breakfast) and Fem-Mate (taken at bedtime) is very helpful for alleviating hot flashes. In one case, a 60 year old woman was on HRT for 10 years and was told to stop her HRT immediately because of her vaginal bleeding. When she stopped, her hot flashes became unbearable, and she tried all manner of remedies to no avail. When she took Chinese Bitters and Fem-Mate, her hot flashes became manageable in only 4 days, although it took 3-4 months before her hot flashes disappeared.

This remedy works because Chinese Bitters decongests and cleanses the liver while Fem-Mate stimulatesnatural progesterone and estrogen production by stimulating the adrenals. For some women, whose hot flashes are relatively mild, Chinese Bitters alone is enough to eliminate their hot flashes.

Estrogen dominance

Conventional medicine tries to convince women that menopause is an estrogen deficient disease and estrogen therapy is the answer to the major menopausal women’s concerns such as hot flashes, heart attack and osteoporosis. However, I believe menopause is a natural physiological process because high estrogen levels are no longer needed after the child-bearing age. As a matter of fact, the major concern for post-menopausal women should be “estrogen dominance”,not estrogen deficiency. The estrogen production does decline to some extent after menopause but progesterone production declines much more because the adrenals are the only producers of progesterone after menopause. Estrogens are produced by adrenals and fat cells. This results in estrogen being dominant and out of control because progesterone has balancing effects on estrogens.“Estrogen dominance” is probably the major cause of perimenopausal or post-menopausal women’s cancers in the reproductive tract as well as breast cancer. Use of estrogens is also known to be one of the risk factors for stroke according to the Canadian Medical Association’s “Home Medical Encyclopedia” [editor: Peter Morgan, The Readers Digest Association (Canada) Ltd., Montreal, 1992].

In some cases, instead of Chinese Bitters andFem-Mate as mentioned in the previous section, Shou Wu Tea can work well too. Shou Wu Tea strengthens and stimulates both the liver and kidneys. Fem-mate is more intended for stimulating progesterone production.

A Natural Anti-Cancer Protocol

Modern medicine treats the body as a collection of parts instead of as a synergistic organism. When it comes to treating broken bones and injured body parts, mainstream Western medicine is unequaled. When this same approach is used to treat illness and disease – fixing or repairing the parts where the symptoms of underlying illnesses manifest themselves, modern medicine fails miserably.

Whereas modern medicine looks at cancer as primarily a genetic disorder, when in actuality it is more an immune disorder. Cancer is a cell proliferative disease where cells go into an altered mode where they refuse to die normal programmed cell death and multiply – which happens as a result of an impaired immune system together with poor cellular terrain (created from under-nourished, under-cleansed and under-hydrated cells) and exposure to toxins, radiation or other sources of prolonged irritation and inflammation.

Instead of addressing the causes of cancer – primarily toxins and a weakened immune system which result in a loss of proper cellular communication and oxidation and the cells mutating to cells that replicate without dying – we see instead mainstream treatments that either slash, burn or poison away the tumors and cancer cells, which further weakens an immune system cancer has already defeated and only worsens the conditions that led to cancer to begin with.

As a result, the way is paved for the return of the cancer or the introduction of another cancer or serious condition. Even worse, the road to further illness is often made easier due to the damage to the immune system and major organs caused by the treatment of the symptom.

Nature, on the other hand, gives us an array of tools to beat cancer and the underlying causes that lead to cancer, including foods, vitamins, minerals, supplements and lifestyle choices. The key is not merely addressing the tumors and cancer cells that are the symptoms of cancer, but but addressing and eliminating the root causes that led to cancer to begin with and prevent it from being eliminated.

Here is a suggested protocol to eliminate cancer cells by either killing them or restoring them to normal function and to address the root causes of cancer based on what we know about cancer and what nature and lifestyle choices have to offer:


As soon as possible, cleanse your body to get rid of built up toxins like heavy metals and pesticides, as well as the undigested food, fecal matter and gallstones that build up in the body by cleansing your colon and liver and by chelation to rid the body of heavy metals. Such contaminations are breeding grounds for, and causes of, disease and illness. A toxic and unclean body weakens the body’s immune system that should be your first line of defense. Plus, once cleansed, the body is much more receptive to the good measures you take to rebuild your immune system and fight disease.

It cannot be stressed enough how vitally important it is to cleanse, restore and protect the liver before, during and after your anti-cancer and disease battle. As the great cancer pioneer Max Gerson observed, cancer cannot develop unless the liver is impaired to begin with. An effective cancer fighting regimen can severely tax an already weakened liver because it will result in the release of a cascade of toxins that are released when cancer cells die. Such a release can overwhelm an already impaired liver and can even be fatal if measures are not taken to protect and regenerate the liver. Following is a suggested liver cleanse and suggested further measures to take to cleanse, detox, protect and help regenerate the vital liver:

Five day liver cleanse.

    • It is best to have day 4 on a Saturday or at a time when you are staying at home.
    • Day 1: Drink 1 liter (4 cups) of apple juice during the day. Eat as normal otherwise.
    • Day 2: Drink another liter of apple juice. Eat normally
    • Day 3: Drink a 3rd liter of apple juice. Eat normally
    • Day 4: Do not take any sold food after lunch time
    • 6pm – Take one level tablespoon of Epsom salt in a glass of water
    • 8pm – Take another tablespoon of Epsom salt in a glass of water. You may find that you already have to take a trip to the toilet before the 8pm Epsom salt.
    • 10pm – Mix one half glass of olive oil and three quarter glass of freshly squeezed grape fruit juice by shaking it very well in a jar with a lid so that it mixes well and immediately get into bed after drinking the mixture. You will probably make more than one trip to the toilet during the night as well as during the next day.
    • Day 5:
    • 6am: Take another tablespoon of Epsom salt in a glass of water
    • 8am: Take one final tablespoon of Epsom salt in a glass of water.
    • You will find that many gallstones from the liver will be passed and one will notice them in the toilet. They will vary in size from about pin head size to 10mm. Gallstones in the liver are a major cause of many health problems.
      The above liver cleanse can be repeated every month until one finds that for two months in succession no more gallstones are passed. The liver will then be clean. Other things to do for the liver:

    • Coffee enemas – help open the bile ducts so bile and toxins can be released properly.
    • Coconut oil – a wonderful item everyone should take, it helps maintain a good bile flow.
    • Beetroot juice – is also good for the liver and bile flow.
    • Turmeric – is a cancer fighter itself, especially for smokers, and it helps regulate bile flow.
    • Milk thistle – is a must as it helps protect the liver and actually regenerate it
    • Alpha lipoic acid – another liver supplement that also helps fight cancer
    • Selenium – a third liver supplement that is good against cancer too.
    • In the Berkson Clinical Study, three women who were facing liver transplants or chemo with interferon (a horrendous treatment with very low success rates for hepatitis and cirhossis), took milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid and selenium, modified their diets a bit and got some daily exercise and restored their liver functions to normal.

Besides cleansing and detoxing your body, also cleanse your environment to the greatest extent possible of pesticides, herbicides, household cleansers, air fresheners and other manmade chemicals. In an ideal world, you would move to the country where there was plenty of fresh air and sunshine and less stress. In the real world you may not find that possible, so eliminate common toxins in your household, workplace and other places you spend time.

  • Iodine (see above) is an absolute must for anyone fighting cancer, especially breast cancer. Many people have beaten cancer with iodine supplementation alone and it is a supremely powerful item to include in any cancer-fighting protocol.
  • A supreme cancer tumor destroyer and cancer fighter for many forms of cancer is Inositol/IP6, such as is found in the product Cell Forte Max3. According to several users interviewed by the author, it often seems to just melt away tumors in a very short time period, and works well to normalize the PSA readings in prostate cancer sufferers. When used in a protocol that includes measures to cleanse, protect and regenerate the liver, it would be an excellent cancer fighting addition.
  • Bromelain. Several studies have indicated anti-cancer and anti-tumor properties of the enzyme bromelain, which comes from the pineapple plant. One of the primary anti-cancer properties of bromelain may be it’s ability to help prevent cancer from growing and spreading. Bromelain is also a powerful binder which can greatly increase the absorption of other supplements and medications (for that reason, a qualified medical professional. preferably a naturopathic one, should be consulted before taking large amounts of bromelain with other medications where increased absorption might be a cause for concern).   • Besides attacking cancer, preventing it’s spread and tumor growth by the process of angiogenesis is critical. Many of the items in this protocol work against angiogenesis; however there are also two powerful angiogenesis inhibitors that should be included for maximum effect: Shark Cartilage and Bindweed. Studies have indicated that shark cartilage is effective at preventing cancer tumors from growing and spreading and bindweed was shown to be 100 times more effective by weight than shark cartilage.

The second group got a low dose of CoQ10. The third got a medium dose. Both of the groups that received CoQ10 had reductions in abnormal crypts (an early sign of colon cancer) of up to 77%. Ultimately, the results of this study suggested that CoQ10 held cancer in check even when exposed to this carcinogen. Another study done at the University of Texas at Austin documented 10 cases of cancer patients who unexpectedly survived when treated with CoQ10. It works by blocking the free radicals that can ultimately damage the DNA in your cells. It also helps re-energize the immune system cells that get suppressed by cancer. It restores their ability to fight back and attack the cancer cells. Researchers in Denmark studied a group of breast cancer patients. They gave them CoQ10, plus a combination of other antioxidants and essential-fatty acids. The result was that the entire group had a partial remission of the cancer; however, two of the patients received larger doses of CoQ10 (390 mg). Their tumors disappeared.
  • Essiac tea is another good blood and overall body cleanser and has had some noted success against cancer. Make sure to get a quality version and not one which scrimps on some of the vital ingredients, such as real sheep sorrel. Though Essiac tea is not recommended as a stand-alone or central component of an overall cancer fighting protocol, it is a very good item to include and there have been good reports of its success when combined with oleander and the Budwig flaxseed/cottage cheese.
  • Pau d’arco, a component of the original rain forest version of Sutherlandia OPC, has had notable reports of success against cancer, including one person who used it along with a healthy diet and a few other supplements to beat cancer after being given 6 months to live. He is still alive today over 10 years later. Note: It is important to buy the tea from a reputable company to ensure you are getting the right species of inner bark.   • Other important cancer fighting herbs include andrographis, nettle leaf, bladderwrack, and black walnut hull.
  • The Beck type electrical zappers are sworn to by many and appear to have a history of eliminating cancer and illness from the body. Also, a great many successes have been reported by users of genuine Rife type machines, although they are hard to find and many inferior machines parading as Rife machines are out there. There are also the Zappers of Hulda Clark, although they are not my favorite. If you have mercury amalgam fillings in your teeth, have them replaced. In many instances, this step alone has led to elimination of cancer. No matter what supplements or treatments you may choose to combat cancer, you must first establish a good foundation. It is also best to consume little or no grain or dairy products. It should be noted that of all the foods, essentially only raw vegetables and fruits contribute to an alkaline pH. Juiced vegetables and fruits are an excellent form of nutrition (Note: eat much more vegetables than fruit due to the high sugar content of fruits).

The Budwig Diet is an excellent and proven cancer fighting diet which is highly recommended, especially the flaxseed oil and quark (or cottage cheese) portion of the diet. The diet is named after Dr. Johanna Budwig of Germany – a protege of Nobel Laureate Otto Warburg. Dr. Budwig found that in order for cancer cells to revert back to proper cellular utilization of oxygen, our diets must contain adequate amounts of unsaturated fatty acids. If you are unable to obtain quark cheese, be sure to choose a small curd cottage cheese, preferably an organic one. Large curd cottage cheese usually contains the unhealthy ingredient rennet. NOTE: When using the Budwig Diet, avoid alpha-lipoic acid and vitamin e supplementation. Despite what some overly zealous Budwig proponents believe, other anti-oxidants and supplements are fine with the Budwig diet.

Take the time to chew each bite thoroughly – as many as 50 chews if possible – to help aid digestion and take maximum advantage of the available nutrition.

The right food choices can greatly increase the odds of beating cancer. Fortunately, nature offers a multitude of foods which have great cancer fighting and immune boosting properties. Here are some of the very best:
Cruciferous Vegetables. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and kale are among the most powerful cancer fighting foods to be found. Cruciferous vegetables are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals and contain important antioxidants such as beta carotene and the compound sulforaphane. Cruciferous vegetables contain isothiocyanates, phytochemicals which help break down potential carcinogens. They also contain indole-3-carbidol (I3C), which helps prevent estrogen driven cancers. Other cruciferous vegetables are: arugula, bok choy, chard, Chinese cabbage, collard greens, daikon, kohlrabi, mustard greens, radishes, rutabagas, turnips and watercress.
Curcumin (turmeric). Curcumin, the major ingredient of the spice turmeric, has been a rising star against cancer in recent years. Numerous studies have indicated curcumin’s cancer fighting abilities as well as its abilities to help prevent cancer, including one study which found that curcumin helps prevent lung cancer for tobacco smokers.
Mushrooms. There are a number of mushrooms known as “medicinal mushrooms” which can help the body fight cancer and build the immune system. These mushrooms contain a number of valuable cancer fighting and immune boosting compounds including polysaccharides such as lentinan, beta glucan, lectin and thioproline. These compounds attack cancerous cells, prevent them from multiplying, and boost immune activity – including stimulating the body’s natural production of interferon.
Some of the very best cancer fighting and immune boosting mushrooms are: agaricus blazei murrill (ABM mushroom), coriolus versicolor (Asian turkey tail mushroom), shitake, reishi, maitake, cordyceps oglossoides and phellinus linteus.

So long as you are not physically wasted, fasting is an excellent way to begin virtually any disease fighting protocol. Many people are able to beat disease and illness of all kinds, including cancer, simply by fasting.

After an initial fast of a few days or longer where you provide only the water needed to satisfy thirst, continue with a one-day-a-week fast. It will help keep your body cleansed and, if you are overweight, also help you reach and maintain your optimum weight. Two good daily fasts in addition to water only fasts when fighting cancer would be 1) a dark grape fast where you eat all the dark grapes and seeds you want but nothing else other than water (the concord grape is probably the best choice and seeds are a must!), and 2) a juiced vegetables fast.

Proper Food Combining

It is important to practice proper food combining in the cause of disease as this prevents the putrefaction and fermentation of foods within the digestive system, and therefore toxicity, caused by mixing a predominantly protein food with a predominantly starchy food at the same meal. For example a poached egg on wholewheat toast. Fruits should not be combined with vegetables for the same reason. Proper food combining requires far less digestive energy which is then released for other more important bodily tasks.

The Importance of Sunshine

From the very first days that man walked upon the earth, sunshine has been a key to health and survival. The importance of the synergistic relationship between health and regular sunshine cannot be over-emphasized for both physical healing and mental health (which is itself a key to physical healing for cancer and any other illness). Contrary to popular beliefs about the harmful effects of over exposure to the sun, abundant sunlight has extremely high success rates for:

  • Safely stopping tumor growth, not destroying tumors (the only effect that conventional medicine recognizes), but stopping growth.
  • Preventing cancer by stimulating the body’s vitamin D production.
  • Preventing influenza also by vitamin D production.

Don’t overdo the sunshine, but sunshine is essential to the production of vitamin D, and, strange as it may sound, has been found to be essential in warding off melanoma as well as other cancers. Be sure to get full body sun exposure avoiding the heat of the day and not allowing oneself to become more than mildly “pink” or sunburned by gradually increasing exposure time from a few minutes to perhaps a full hour and more each day.

Fair skin and the number of moles are the major risk factor for melanoma (skin cancer), not sunlight overexposure.
In 1959. Jane C Wright, directing cancer research at Bellevue Memorial Medical Center in New York City, instructed fifteen cancer patients to stay outdoors as much as possible that summer in natural sunlight without wearing their glasses, and particularly without sunglasses. By that Autumn, the tumors in 14 of 15 had not grown, and some patients had gotten better. It was discovered that the one patient that didn’t have good results had not fully understood the instructions – while she had not worn sunglasses, she had continued to wear her prescription glasses. This blocking of UV into her eyes was enough to stop the benefits enjoyed by the other fourteen.

Indirect Sunlight Into the Eyes Guidelines

You really can’t get enough of this type of light. Sitting in a screen enclosed porch would be the minimum exposure and would require three times the duration to get the same effect as walking in full sunlight. Walking in full sunlight might only require one hour to get full benefit. Wearing a hat with a brim in bright direct sunlight should be sufficient UV protection. The UV problem for eyes is greatly over exaggerated to sell sunglasses which, like sunscreens, should be used sparingly.


Exposure to Nature and the Good Earth

From the good earth did life spring and mankind lived for eons in close contact and relative harmony with the good earth. Mankind developed for eons in harmony with nature. It is beyond mere theory that regular exposure to soil organisms and and the good earth provides both physical and mental healing. Many believe that there is an actual healing synergy from exposure to the earth itself. Today, far too many of us are shut off from nature in the artificial and closed environments of offices and closed in dwellings. To remedy this:

  • Take frequent walks in yards, fields and woods. Of course, seek out areas that are likely to be as free as possible from pesticides, herbicides and other chemical contamination.
  • As often as possible, take off your shoes, socks and sandals and go barefooted in the soil and grass.
  • Plant vegetable and flower gardens (and use only organic products!). If that is not possible, use pots and other containers for patio, balconies and indoors. Working with your hands (and feet) in the soil is one of the most physically and mentally healthy things you can do. Those who have not had the pleasure will be amazed at the peace and tranquility you will experience. Indoor plants bring the added benefit of adding extra oxygen and removing toxins from you air. Everyone should have plenty of them!

Rebuild and strengthen the body’s natural immune system. It is very likely that a weakened immune system contributed to your illness in the first place. It is absolutely certain that a rebuilt and strengthened immune system will help you beat your illness and keep it at bay. Again, good diet, nutrition and habits are all important – they lay the foundation for a strong and healthy immune system. However, they are not enough by themselves. You should build a good foundation and then make your body a healthy fortress against disease and illness. Quite simply, disease and illness hate healthy hosts. The stronger your immune system is, the harder it is for disease to survive and grow. And, to be the very strongest you can be, you need extra measures in the form of supplements as well as the healthiest foods. Proper Breathing and Stretching

Proper oxygenation a key to the very foundation of health – having a healthy bloodstream, the vital system that transports oxygen and nutrients to every cell in your body. If you have a healthy circulatory system, you will live a long and healthy life. A key element for that system is breathing. One of the functions of the lymphatic system is to act as part of a ‘sewage system’ for the cells. Every cell in your body is surrounded by lymph. Blood is pumped from your heart through your arteries to the tiny porous vessels called capillaries. The blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the capillaries, where they are then diffused into the lymph around the cells. The cells, having intelligence for what they need, absorb the oxygen and nutrients necessary for their health and excrete toxins, some of which go back into the capillaries. Dead cells, blood proteins and other toxic material are removed by the lymph system. Deep breathing and stretching activate this lymph system.
The body’s cells depend on the lymph system as the only way to drain off these large amounts of toxic materials and excess fluid, the presence of which can restrict the amount of oxygen available to the cells. The fluid passes through the lymph nodes where dead cells and all other poisons (except blood proteins) are neutralized and destroyed. Many of the ‘fight back’ cells of the immune system are stored in the lymph nodes.

Maintain an Alkaline pH and Get Plenty of Oxygen in the Bloodstream

Once cancer has gained a foothold, it begins to lower the body’s pH due to the production of lactic acid in the cancer cells. The normal body pH as measured by blood pH is within a range of 7.35 – 7.45, In the early stages of cancer the pH lowers to 7.0 or below and as the cancer progresses it further lower to very acidic levels of 6.0 and even 5.0. Eating a plant-based alkaline diet can help maintain more alkaline pH levels. Some common wisdom among alternate cancer treatment circles says that cancer can be defeated by raising pH alone. While maintaining an alkaline pH is certainly very important, the steps one takes to lower the pH may be more important than just the pH level. The Myth of Curing Cancer Solely With an Alkaline pH

Another common and widely spread belief is that cancer cannot survive in the presence of ample oxygen. Similar to the pH cancer cure belief, while it is certainly important to overall health while fighting cancer to make sure one has plenty of oxygen in the blood, the presence of oxygen doe NOT kill cancer cells (unless there is so much oxygen that free radicals cause cell death). The oxygen theory of beating cancer originated with the work of Nobel Laureate Otto Warburg in the 1920’s. Warburg found that cancer cells thrived in the presence of low oxygen levels. This lead him to postulate that oxygen might be used to kill cancer cells. What Warburg did not realize at the time was the cancer cells had low oxygen because they stopped using oxygen for respiration as part of the cancer process. Although many people use food grade hydrogen peroxide to obtain extra oxygen, perhaps a better option without the concerns some have with hydrogen peroxide is the product OxyGen. Each capsule contains oxygen and the equivalent of 12 drops of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide derived from a combination of magnesium peroxide and pure anaerocidal oxygen.

Be Sure to Take These Cancer Fighting Minerals

Make sure you have plenty of iodine, selenium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, vitamin C, calcium and Vitamin D. All have been proven to be essential in beating and avoiding cancer. As mentioned above, cancer cells have lost the ability to be shut off by the body in what is called cellular apoptosis. These cancerous cells simply become abnormal and outlive the other cells in their normal cell life/replacement cycle and end up crowding out a territory over time. Iodine goes in and both does away with the surrounding cyst where cancer has set up residence and then also goes in and allows the specific shut down of the individual cells that are abnormal, diseased, or beset w/ pathogens to make room for new cells.

Some notes on iodine and selenium:

  • Many people who take iodine and selenium take far too little for maximum therapeutic benefit. Both elemental iodine and potassium iodine should be taken and the total amount of iodine should be 100mg or more, perhaps beginning at 50mg and working up.
  • Magnascent is a good form or elemental iodine. Lugols is also widely used. Since Lugols contains both elemental iodine and potassium iodine, the total amount of iodine one can take with Lugols is 300 mg.
  • Selenium MUST be taken with iodine in order for iodine to be effective.
  • The best form of supplemental selenium for fighting cancer appears to be methylselenocysteine. The most common form of supplemental selenium is selenomethionine whose general proteins have no anticancer activity. Another form, sodium selenite is more frequently metabolized to the toxic metabolite hydrogen selenide (H2Se), which does have anticancer effects but is more toxic than selenomethionine. Its primary mode of killing cancer cells (and at high levels, normal cells) is through the process of cell necrosis. Cell necrosis provokes inflammation and may kill healthy cells along with cancer cells.
  • According to Life Extension Foundation, The three forms of selenium most important in cancer prevention are sodium selenite, L-selenomethionine, and selenium-methyl L-selenocysteine. These three compounds differ in the way your body utilizes them. In general, the three selenium compounds complement one another in the ways they affect your body’s expression of important proteins involved in cancer prevention and suppression. In addition, all three selenium compounds induce cell death in various cancer types, but each compound is better at destroying some cancers than others. Methyselenocysteine is found naturally in some vegetables including garlic, brassicas, leeks, and onions, especially when these are grown in high selenium soil. Methylselenocysteine is easily converted to methylselenol which has been demonstrated to be an effective anticancer form of selenium. Rather than killing cancer cells by necrosis, methylselenol kills cancer cells through apoptosis. Apoptosis is an orderly process of cellular self-destruction that does not provoke inflammatory responses. Methylselenol is also known to inhibit angiogenesis in beginning cancer tumors. Angiogenesis, the creation of new blood vessels, is necessary for cancer cells to grow into a tumor. For cancer prevention, doses of 200 to 400 mcg of methylselenocysteine are generally considered safe without medical supervision. Nutritionally-oriented physicians may use as much as 900 to 2,000 mcg selenium from methylselenocysteine daily as part of a comprehensive cancer treatment protocol.

Drink Lots of Healthy Clean Water

Water is essential for all healthy life; however, regular tap water contains trace amounts of hundreds to thousands of pesticides, carcinogens and other industrial pollutants. For that reason, the author recommends only the purest drinking water, such as reverse osmosis filtered water.

Exercise in Moderation

Regular exercise does not have to be grueling, but it is essential. Exercise stimulates the immune system, stimulates the production of natural human growth hormone, stimulates the production of hormones and pheromones that make us happier and healthier, and simply leads to a longer and happier life period. Innumerable studies have demonstrated the overall health benefits of exercise and the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle lacking in exercise. It is not a coincidence that studies have shown up that those who exercise only a few hours each week have up to 50% less chance of developing many different kinds of cancer.

Do Not Neglect the Vital Trace Minerals

Trace minerals are essential in beating cancer and are in fact essential to virtually all of the body’s important processes when it comes to utilizing vitamins, minerals and enzymes for good health. Two hundred years ago, the top layer of our soil contained up to 80 or more different minerals. Today, over-farming and the chemical destruction of soil micro-organisms has stripped soils the world over of all but a handful of bio-available minerals, and even those remaining minerals are at levels that are only fractions of what were in the soil 100 years ago and continuing to decline.

Man’s body is designed to utilize at least 60 or more trace minerals on a daily basis, and did so for thousands of years by eating the plants that processed such minerals (and the animals that ate the plants). Quite simply, without minerals nothing else works as designed, and every mineral deficiency, whether major or trace minerals, results in the body compensating in one or more ways which are often unhealthy. The head of the National Cancer Research Foundation, Fred Eichorn, asserts that mineral deficiencies lead to changes in instructions to the DNA to make adjustments for alternate ways to produce hormones and amino acids – and that these changes lead to cancer. Get Plenty of Healthy Omega 3’s

Some in the field of natural health will tell you that you can beat cancer through diet alone, or through diet and detoxing. IMPORTANT NOTE: While oleander is regarded as one of the very best cancer fighters on the planet, including for Stage IV cancers, it usually does take time to gain the upper hand and help defeat cancer – and it is probably not the best choice, at least in the beginning, to use when no more than a couple of weeks or less time is estimated. Though the above suggested protocol might still work in such instances, faster acting alternatives such as ozone therapy (highly recommended, but it should be in a hyperbaric chamber) or cesium chloride might be a better option to use to help set back the cancer and buy time, and then, if such faster acting options are successful, one could continue with a protocol such as the one above. Both ozone therapy and cesium chloride are considered to be compatible with oleander, though one should consult authorities well versed in those protocols for specific advice and information.
